Most frequent questions and answers

WHY IS ATAC DIFFERENT?

Australian Technology & Agricultural College is an exciting development in Independent Education with its mission to develop partnerships with business and industry. This senior education facility enables students to gain a trade qualification in the industry of their choice. ATAC will develop this comprehensive and nationally recognised program with the goal of achieving a reputation as the “College of Excellence” from which industry and business will source their apprentices.

DO I NEED TO HAVE A TECHNICAL, TRADE OR FARMING BACKGROUND TO BE SUCCESSFUL WITH A CAREER IN AGRICULTURE OR RELATED TRADE?

No! This is the very reason we emphasise experiential learning. We give students the opportunity to gain experience in the field of their choice. Our students will graduate with the knowledge and experience necessary to step into the workforce, able to quickly integrate into the company or enterprise as a productive member.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The College charges a Yearly Tuition Fee which is set in the Schedule of Fees. Additionally, there will be charges for resources and text books for curriculum areas, bus services, as well as a charge for trade materials and consumables. These charges will not cover the cost of trade tools used in the workplace. These tools will need to be purchased by students and the expense may be subsidised by the Australian Government. Comprehensive details of the financial incentives for apprentices are available via a link through the apprenticeship website.

WHERE ARE CLASSES HELD AND WHAT TRANSPORT IS AVAILABLE?

Classes are held at our North Maclean Campus, 4808-4822 Mt Lindesay Highway. Students can access public transport through Logan and Beaudesert bus lines.

BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS WITH ATAC

The College is eager to establish positive working relationships with business and industry partners. Each student will complete practical experience at a workplace willing to support them during their course. Unlike traditional schools, ATAC has the flexibility to develop training contracts that meet the needs of business and industry partners and student commitment.
